πŸ“ˆ Ecom Matters 9/25/25 - MCF, Octobitrage, New List Update & More

Hey there!

Next stop, Q4!

I'm back with another round of non-breaking news, memes, quotes, and updates for you in the most inconsistent "weekly" newsletter around.

If you're just looking for the link to sign up for the new Gamma Weekend Lead List, click here.

πŸ’¬ Quote of the Week

This is one of those tweets that I should reread on a weekly basis. This is a trap I seem to fall into on a regular basis.

Now let's see what we missed on the back pages of e-commerce news. ⬇️

What's the Matter?

πŸ“° Octobitrage

The holiday retail arms race is starting earlier again this year. Walmart’s Deals event (Oct. 7–12) and Target’s Circle Week (Oct. 5–11) have jumped into ring to compete with Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days.

October has officially become round one of holiday spending.

Why it matters:

  • Shoppers are being trained to treat October as the holiday season, meaning you’ll possibly see demand spikes earlier.
  • Walmart and Target are effectively handing you discounted inventory opportunities during these events.

πŸ“° Getting Back With the (Fed)Ex

FedEx is ramping back up its delivery capacity for Amazon, stepping in to carry heavier, more lucrative packages during peak season after having largely scaled back in 2019.

FedEx posted solid Q1 growth and is retooling its network to lean into high-margin e-commerce volume.

Why it matters:

  • With FedEx committing more resources to Amazon, fulfillment bottlenecks could loosen this Q4.
  • This fills the void left when UPS announced in late January that it would be cutting Amazon shipping volume by more than 50%.

πŸ“° The Premier Online Seller Community

The OAC+ is off and running. Almost 200 sellers have already joined the community.

You have a chance to make one of the best business decisions you can make by clicking this button. πŸ‘‡

Why it matters:

The OAC+ is THE premier community for sellers who want or need more than just YouTube videos and social media.

It's everything you need to get your business to where you want it to be.

What's included?

  • A dedicated FlipAlert channel feeding you A2A flips 24/7
  • Free access to Storefront Stalker Pro and a massive discount if you want a bigger plan
  • Access to a $3000+ education in the course vault
  • Live over-the-shoulder sourcing sessions weekly
  • Live coaching calls weekly
  • An active community inside Discord
  • Free entry to every future OA Challenge
  • Suspension support if things go sideways with your account
  • Confidential ASIN Reviews if you want expert eyes on a product you aren't sure about
  • Exclusive special guest interviews

And that's just the beginning. I've seen the roadmap of what's ahead and you won't want to miss out.

*Bad news: the Founders Rate has sold out. The good news is the annual plan is now available. It saves you some money on the monthly membership and completely removes the initial entry fee.

πŸ“° Fulfill Me Once, Shame on You...

Amazon is expanding its Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) offering to support merchants on SHEIN, Shopify, and Walmart. This adds to a list that already includes eBay and TikTok.

Amazon says this will give sellers faster, simpler fulfillment, better inventory sync, and higher sales.

Why it matters:

  • Amazon wants to position itself as the central nervous system of ecom fulfillment.
  • The move makes the case for Amazon as more of a service provider than just a platform.
  • Risk calculations must be made. Amazon's network may save money over finding your own 3PL, but it comes with increased dependency. This seems at odds with many sellers' recent attitudes toward the company.
